I enclose a copy of & letter from the mar Office showing the present position after a further interim payment of £40,000 has been made.
The enclosure also shows that a balance of only £7, is outstanding in respect of the war Supplies Board Claim following Treasury authority for a further interim payment of £1,400.
The reference in paragraph 1 to the ..ar Lamage liability is in respect a cargo of wagon steel en route to India from Hong Kong in the 3.5. "Harudsvang" which was scuttled in Kowloon Harbour on or about the 11th December, 1941.
This question is still under discussion una I will keep you adviseu of the developments, but I would be glad to know whether you have any comments to make at this stage.
